We are pleased to announce that Christian Arendt has successfully defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Scalability Evaluation of Private Wireless Communication Services for Vertical Industries” at TU Dortmund University.

His research addresses the scalability and performance of private wireless networks in industrial environments, with a particular focus on 5G and Wi-Fi technologies. A central contribution of his dissertation is STING (Spatially Distributed Traffic and Interference Generation), a distributed measurement and testing framework that enables reproducible performance evaluations under realistic industrial conditions.

Through extensive laboratory experiments and real-world industrial deployments, his work provides valuable insights into the capabilities and limitations of wireless communication technologies for demanding industrial applications. The findings contribute to the design of reliable, scalable, and efficient wireless networks for future smart factories and Industry 4.0 applications.

The entire team of the Communication Networks Institute warmly congratulates Christian on this important academic achievement and wishes him continued success in his future career!
