The kick-off event made one thing clear: transferring 6G research into practice is a joint task of the federal government, the states, academia, and industry. State Secretary Dr. Rolf-Dieter Jungk opened the event with a clear message: “We support 6G in order to improve people’s lives. Research alone does not secure prosperity—it must also generate real innovation.” He added that the goal now is also to “turn know-how into market power.” The 6G Transfer Hubs are intended to address exactly this point: to close the gap between research results and market readiness faster than before and to bring smart ideas into real-world application. Prof. Christian Wietfeld (ComNets Dortmund) presented 6GEM+ as a hub for value-oriented 6G communication systems in demanding production and logistics environments. Integrated AI computing, real-time data transmission, and ultra-low latency are at the core of research and development over the next four years. Prof. Haris Gacanin received the official funding certificate. Prof. Aydin Sezgin provided a video interview.
