Prof. Wietfeld delivering a key note on reliable 6G networking for safe networked Physical AI.
Representatives from the 6G-life and 6GEM+ transfer hubs gathered with leading American researchers for a high-profile, two-day joint workshop at the Northeastern University, hosted by Institute for Intelligent Networked Systems lead by Tommosa Melodia.

The keynote of Christian Wietfeld highlighted the critical role of open, resilient 6G networks in enabling safe and reliable Physical AI applications, particularly immersive robot teleoperation and edge-cloud-based control. It demonstrated how multi-link connectivity, predictive video streaming, and AI-driven proactive scheduling significantly improve real-time performance, reliability, and scalability of networked robotic systems. Finally, it showcased how digital twins, intelligent beam management, and smart mmWave radio environments can further enhance 6G connectivity, paving the way for trustworthy and scalable Physical AI deployments.

Further keynotes and talks were made by renowned experts from both sides of the Atlantic, including Tommaso Melodia, Frank Fitzek, Wolfgang Kellerer, Muriel Medard, Aydin Sezgin, Heiko Lehmann, Christian Wietfeld, Josep M. Jornet, Osvaldo Simeone, Stratis Ioannidis, Mallesham Dasari, and Francesco Restuccia.
